Quick Answer: What Does a Wedding Videographer Cost in Edmonton?

There is no single price, because a wedding film is built around your events and the edits you want. With me, single-day wedding videography starts at $3,750 and multi-day videography starts at $7,490. Photo + video from one team starts at $8,750 for one day and $17,990 for a multi-day wedding. Every package includes an engagement session.

What My Video Packages Start At

Here are my starting prices side by side, with photography included so you can see how the three fit together.

PackageSingle-day starts atMulti-day starts at
Videography$3,750$7,490
Photo + video$8,750$17,990
Photography$2,250$6,490

“Starts at” means the smallest package for that kind of wedding. Your quote depends on your day: how many events you have, which edits you want, and whether you want photos too. The full list is on my pricing page.

Every video package includes:

  • a highlight film;
  • ceremony and reception edits, on most packages;
  • an extended highlight film, on larger packages;
  • an engagement session.

As for style, this is how I describe my own work: “My video style is documentary-oriented — I try to hear and see and make a story from your wedding day or week.” That shapes what you are paying for. Most of the work is listening, watching and then building a story from what really happened.

What Changes the Price of a Wedding Film

When couples ask me why one quote is higher than another, it nearly always comes down to a few things.

How many events you have. A single-day wedding has a ceremony and a reception on the same day. A multi-day wedding adds events on other days, like a Mehndi, a Sangeet or a separate reception. Each event is its own story, with its own audio, light and people.

Which edits you want. A highlight film on its own is one thing. Adding ceremony and reception edits, or an extended highlight film, means more footage to go through and more films to build.

Whether you add photography. Photo + video from one team is its own package, with its own starting price.

How spread out your day is. Two getting-ready homes, a ceremony across town and a reception somewhere else take more planning than a day in one place. That doesn’t always change the price, but it changes what we need to plan for.

What should not drive the price is guesswork. If a quote is vague about what you get, ask for it in writing, edit by edit.

Highlight Film, Ceremony Edit, Reception Edit: What You Pay For

These names get used a lot, so here is what each one means in my packages.

The Highlight Film

This is the story of your day, cut down to the moments that matter most. It’s the one you’ll send to friends and rewatch on your anniversary. Every video package I offer includes one.

Ceremony and Reception Edits

These are the longer record of the two parts of the day people most want to see again: the vows and rituals, then the speeches, entrances and dances. They come with most of my video packages. These are often the films parents and grandparents care about most.

The Extended Highlight Film

Larger packages add an extended highlight film. It tells the same story with more room: more people, more moments and more of each event. For a multi-day wedding, that extra room helps each event get its due.

When you compare quotes, line these up. Two quotes can look far apart until you notice one includes ceremony and reception edits and the other doesn’t.

Single-Day vs Multi-Day Indian Wedding Video

Many Indian and South Asian couples in Edmonton ask which kind of package they need. The simple rule:

  • Ceremony and reception on the same day: that is a single-day wedding. Single-day videography starts at $3,750.
  • Events on more than one day, like a Haldi, Mehndi or Sangeet before the wedding: that is a multi-day wedding. Multi-day videography starts at $7,490.

Video earns its place at the pre-wedding events. Every family runs them its own way, but a Sangeet usually means music, dancing and speeches, and a Haldi is often full of laughter. Photos catch how it looked. Video keeps how it sounded.

If you’re planning a multi-day wedding, my Indian wedding videography page shows how I film each event.

Is Photo + Video From One Team Worth It?

Photo + video starts at $8,750 for a single-day wedding and $17,990 for a multi-day wedding. It includes a highlight film, an online gallery, and ceremony and reception edits, plus the engagement session.

Here is the honest case for it:

  • One plan. One timeline, one set of questions, one person to email.
  • No turf wars. The photographer and videographer know where the other is standing, so nobody ends up in the other’s shot during the vows.
  • One look. Colour and skin tones stay consistent between your photos and your film.

It isn’t for everyone. If you already love a photographer, or video is the only thing you want, a single package is fine. My photo + video packages page explains how the combined days work. Your photo gallery takes 6 to 8 weeks.

How to Compare Quotes Fairly

A cheaper quote isn’t a better deal if it leaves out the film you wanted. Before you decide, check these:

  1. List the deliverables side by side. Highlight film, ceremony edit, reception edit, extended film. Which ones does each quote include?
  2. Watch a full film, not only a trailer. A trailer shows the best few seconds. A longer film shows how someone tells a whole story.
  3. Listen as carefully as you watch. Can you hear the vows? The speeches? That is half of a wedding film.
  4. Check which events are covered. Especially for a multi-day wedding.
  5. Ask what’s included beyond the wedding day. With me, every package includes an engagement session.
  6. Ask how photo and video will work together if they come from two different companies.
  7. Get it all in writing before you pay anything.

If you’re pricing photography at the same time, my wedding photographer cost guide covers that side.
